Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has revealed that his club are keen to keep the services of Real Madrid’s Achraf Hakimi for another season, as relayed by Marca.
Only a week ago, Alejandro Camano, who represents Hakimi, said the right-back would return to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of this season and then consider his options, and he didn’t rule out the possibility of a return to the Signal Iduna Park. Earlier, he had revealed that Hakimi would certainly go back and remain in Madrid if Real wanted him to, but at Real they were reportedly worried about him not being able to displace Dani Carvajal in Zinedine Zidane’s team and a consequent lack of game-time having a negative impact on his development.
If Dortmund are indeed keen on having him, and they have every reason to be, the solution to all the problems presents itself, really. The only matter left to decide should be whether Real offer him a new contract before they send him back to Germany. His current one expires in 2022.
