Borussia Dortmund defender Kevin Grosskreutz promised his team would return to form after a slow start to the season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have struggled early in the campaign, sitting 13th in the Bundesliga after just two wins in their opening seven games.
Dortmund have several injury worries, including Marco Reus (ankle), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (foot) and Nuri Sahin (knee).
Grosskreutz said the players had vowed to get back to their best, beginning with a trip to Cologne on Saturday.
“It’s not only because many injured players to come back. We all swore to each other that now we will start to show our style of football again,” he said.
“We will start doing so on Saturday.”
Grosskreutz said his side had simply been making far too many mistakes.
Klopp has been unhappy with Dortmund’s defending, and Grosskreutz said errors and poor pressing had seen them encounter trouble.
“The training sessions we have are very good. We are all in a good mood,” he said.
“We analysed our mistakes and now we can finally start showing our game, the game of Borussia Dortmund.
“We made too many mistakes. Our pressing was bad in the Bundesliga. We just didn’t show good football recently. That has to be better in future and we have to stop making mistakes.”
