Achraf Hakimi, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid, has given an exclusive interview to Spanish outlet AS in which he discussed many things; his future being one of them.
Hakimi is a product of Real’s academy, which he joined at the age of eight in 2006. He came through the ranks, including a season-long spell with Castilla, before making 17 appearances and scoring twice for the first team in 2017/18. At the end of that season he joined Dortmund on a two-year loan deal, which expires next summer.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke was maybe joking when he publicly said, in front of Hakimi himself, that he would see if Real president Florentino Perez would let him join the Bundesliga side on a permanent basis, but it’s very clear that he had made good impression at the Signal Iduna Park.
The fullback himself, meanwhile, is trying to focus on each game as it comes, and he isn’t thinking about the future past the current spell in Germany, but he admits that he would love to be successful at Real Madrid.
