(GSM) – England coach Fabio Capello has been given a double boost with the news Wayne Rooney and Ashely Cole will return before the end of the season.
Earlier, England boss worried about the fitness of Manchester United striker Rooney, after he left Bayern Munich on crutches, but a scan has shown that he has only suffered ‘minor’ ankle ligament damage.
Sir Alex Ferguson said, “The nation can stop praying”, has revealed that his star will be out for two to three weeks and may return for the Manchester derby on April 17.
Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti has also revealed that Ashley Cole will be back for Chelsea before the end of the season after breaking his ankle against Everton in February.
There had been fears that the 29-year-old would miss out on the World Cup in South Africa but Ancelotti insists he is making excellent progress and will have the chance to build up his fitness before the showpiece with a return to first-team duty.
Ancelotti said, “Cole will definitely play this season. He will be ready for the World Cup.”
He revealed, “I’ve not spoken to Fabio Capello about this but the England staff are in contact with our medical staff.”
Blues boss confident of his return, “Ashley has been training individually and in 15 days he will be back with the squad.”
“I think he will be ready to play in three weeks,” he concluded.
