Deemed one of the Catalan club’s worst signing in the modern era, Douglas Pereira has made only 3 La Liga appearances for Barcelona since his arrival in 2014.
Announced as a huge talent, Douglas never quite managed to realise his potential with Barcelona ending up loaning the 26-year-old Brazilian to Sporting Gijon in effort to resurrect his career.
Douglas is however enduring a peripheral role at Sporting having played only 103 minutes of competitive action this season. He completed 90 minutes against Atletico Madrid and 13 more in a game against his parent club Barcelona.
Given the fact he failed to make an impact at Sporting as well, the latest reports from El Mundo Deportivo claim that Douglas is facing a prospect of returning to his native Brazil with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube coming back for the player they attempted to sign last summer.
The Brazil giants are readying an offer worth €2 million and a five-year contract for the player Mano Menez believes could become a vital player for Cruzeiro in the future.
