CSKA Moscow forward Seydou Doumbia was named Russia’s player of the year on Thursday.
The Ivory Coast international collected 591 points in an annual poll of the country’s football journalists conducted by Football Weekly.
Doumbia bested Dynamo Moscow’s Ukrainian international striker Andrei Voronin, who finished second in the poll with 505 points, as well as Zenit St Petersburg striker Alexander Kerzhakov, third with 129.
Doumbia is top scorer in the Russian Premier League with 24 goals from 32 matches.
His five goals in the group stage of this year’s UEFA Champions League helped his side reach the last-16, where they will clash with Real Madrid for a quarter-final spot in February.
