Ivorian forward Seydou Doumbia is expected to have his loan deal at CSKA Moscow extended by another six months, according to Izvestia.
Having struggled to prove his worth at AS Roma, the 27-year-old agreed to join his former club on a six-month loan in the summer.
And with the Ivory Coast star putting in some strong performances since returning to Moscow, it is hardly surprising that CSKA want to extend the loan deal until the end of the season.
AS Roma officials are unlikely to object to this since they want the forward to continue with solid showings in Russian Premier League so that they can then cash in on him properly at the end of the season.
While scoring 2 goals in 13 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi, Doumbia quickly rediscovered his scoring touch upon the return to Russia, netting 5 times in 9 league outings.
There is every chance that CSKA Moscow will express a desire to turn his loan deal into permanent move in the summer transfer window, which would be a perfect scenario for all the parties concerned.
