Wolves could be without key man Kevin Doyle for the rest of the season after the striker suffered a knee injury on international duty.
Doyle was forced out of the Republic of Ireland’s 2-1 win over Macedonia after just 17 minutes of Saturday’s Euro 2012 qualifier. The former Reading player underwent scans on Monday that revealed medial ligament damage. The 27-year-old may now be out of action for as much as two months. With only eight matches left in the Premier League season, it remains to be seen how much of a contribution he can make as Wolves battle to avoid relegation. “The scan has confirmed that Kevin has torn his MCL (medial collateral ligament),” the head of Wolves’ medical department Steve Kemp said.”We will be working with Kevin to get him back as quickly as the injury allows but the likely time span is anywhere between four and eight weeks.”
