Dozzell to spark North-London battle

The Mirror have reported that fierce North-London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for battle over signing Ipswich Town’s Andre Dozzell.

The 19-year-old is the son of former Spurs and Ipswich midfielder Jason Dozzell. Playing in a little more advanced role than his father, Andre has made only 12 senior appearances for Ipswich and found the opposition net once.

Hit by a cruciate knee ligament injury, Dozzell missed 13 months of football and has only just returned to full fitness. He played a short spell in his team’s defeat to Middlesbrough earlier this week. The interest from the Gunners and Spurs existed even before this huge injury setback for the youngster’s career, and now they’ve apparently expressed it again.

However, his comeback from injury is expected to cause the presence of other Premier League clubs’ representatives at the Portman Road, as the product of the Ipswich Town youth academy is considered to be highly talented.
