Drinkwater linked with Manchester United return

The Mirror understands that Manchester United are considering a £30m bid to re-sign Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

The twenty-six year old signed for the Foxes four-and-a-half years ago for less than £1m but could be set for a dramatic return to Old Trafford as a Premier League winner after playing a key role as Claudio Ranieri’s side romped to the title last season.

He failed to make a single first team appearance for the Red Devils before being moved on though prior to his switch to the King Power Stadium he had loan spells with Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, Watford and Barnsley.

Since signing for Leicester Drinkwater has racked up one hundred and eighty-two appearances in all competitions, scoring thirteen goals.

He made his senior England debut earlier this year but was not included in the squad that attended this summer’s European Championships in France.
