Drogba ready for Napoli battle

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is eyeing a third straight win as the Premier League club bid to overturn their 3-1 deficit at home to Napoli.

A 2-0 win will be good enough for Chelsea to turn around their crucial Champions League round-of-16 tie with the Italian side and Drogba said back-to-back victories against Birmingham and Stoke had lifted spirits at Stamford Bridge.

“I think it’s possible because if we play the way we played (against Stoke) and against Birmingham. It’s going to be difficult but possible,” Drogba said.

Chelsea were torn apart in the first leg in Napoli with a brace from Ezequiel Lavezzi and an Edinson Cavani strike putting the Italian side on the verge of a quarter-final berth.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas has since departed and despite interim boss Roberto Di Matteo having overseen two straight victories, talk of a return for Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has not dissipated.

“The time will come to talk about Jose Mourinho but we have to focus on the next Champions League game and make sure that we win,” Drogba said.

“Fourth place as well (in the Premier League). Champions League is very important for the club.”

Defender Branislav Ivanovic added that Wednesday’s clash would be like a ‘final’ for Chelsea.

“We’ll give everything for that game. That game is like a final and we have to play like that,” Ivanovic said.

“We are 3-1 down but with the spirit, with the group of players we have at the moment I think it’s possible (to progress).”
