A late goal from Dudu Cearense saved the day for Greek champions Olympiakos Piraeus, as it allowed his team to beat Ergotelis 2-1 in a league game on Saturday.
Things didn’t start well for Olympiakos, as Georgi Shashiashvili gave Ergotelis a surprising lead in the 23rd minute.
Kostas Mitroglou equalised in the 38th minute, but Olympiakos then encountered difficulties adding the second goal they craved. Dudu Cearense, who joined the Greek side from CSKA Moscow last year, eventually netted that winning goal with just four minutes to go at Georgios Karaiskaki stadium.
Olympiakos, for whom this is their sixth league win in a row, take distance from Panathinaikos at the top of the league. However, Panathinaikos may close the gap again in their home match with PAOK on Sunday.
