With the chance to move one step closer to reclaiming their Premier Division title, Dundalk will make the trip to the UCD Bowl on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while a 3-1 win over St Patrick’s may have kept UCD’s FAI Cup dreams alive, it has been nothing short of an abysmal top-flight return for Maciej Tarnogrodzki’s men. Suffering a 3-0 hammering away at Dundalk earlier in the week, they have now lost each of their last five appearances and have continued to struggle with some glaring defensive issues. Including shipping 10 in a woeful display against Bohemians earlier in the month, UCD have shipped a staggering 25 goals on their five-match losing run and Friday night will undoubtedly be another long outing for a side all but relegated.

As for the visitors, while UCD might be enduring a battle at the foot of the Premier Division, Dundalk have continued to catch the eye at the back end of the season. Now holding a seven-point buffer over Shamrock and within touching distance of reclaiming their top-flight crown, the Reds have won each of their last four appearances and are still dreaming of a famous treble-winning campaign. Picking up a routine 3-0 win when they welcomed UCD to Oriel Park earlier in the week, there is no doubt that Head Coach Vinny Perth will be calling for another dominant display on Friday.
