Duo seal Swansea City moves

Swansea City have confirmed the signings of teenagers Darnel Situ and Rory Donnelly.

Situ joins the club from Ligue 1 side Lens while Donnelly joins from Northern Irish club Cliftonville, with both players believed to have signed two-year contracts with the newly promoted English Premier League outfit.

The 19-year-olds have been training with their new team-mates at the Liberty Stadium while they awaited international clearance for their respective moves, and are now available to make their debuts for Brendan Rodgers’ team.

A statement on the club’s official website on Tuesday read: “Swansea City can today confirm the transfers of Darnel Situ and Rory Donnelly have both been completed.”

“The paperwork for both players has been approved by the Premier League and FIFA, and they are now eligible to play a part in the Swans’ campaign.”

Rodgers will be relieved to see the conclusions of both deals, with Connelly’s switch initially hitting complications after Everton showed their interest in the striker.

Situ’s move was blocked by FIFA in August over international clearance issues, leaving him ineligible to play despite having trained with the club since then.

Situ and Donnelly become the Welsh side’s second and third captures of the January transfer window, following the loan signing of Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
