Juventus manager Luigi Delneri confirmed Felipe Melo and Vincenzo Iaquinta will return for his side’s Coppa Italia semi-final against Roma.
Delneri’s side face Roma in Turin on Thursday, and the Italian emphasised the importance of the competition to his squad.
“For us the Coppa Italia is a big stimulus and we have the obligation to honour the Coppa Italia to the full, regardless what the future looks like,” he said.
“Before focusing on the future, we should focus on the match. We will be playing against Roma, which are an important team and we’ll do our very best to try and qualify. This is our objective.”
Delneri said his side will welcome back Melo and Iaquinta, bolstering their midfield and forward options respectively.
“Well, as far as injuries are concerned, we are in a better situation compared to the match we played against Bari. Iaquinta is available and Felipe Melo has recovered. These players are important for Juventus in terms of the quality and experience they add to the team,” he said.
“The match against Roma is going to be important. I expect Roma to come out and be highly motivated. Matches against Roma are always very intense on the pitch in terms of the support from the crowd. Therefore I have to pick a top-level team to play against them. The players most in form will play, this is because we want to qualify and keep on fighting to win the Coppa Italia.”
