PSV qualified for the semi-finals of the Dutch Cup following a 3-2 win over NEC at Philips Stadion on Thursday.
All the goals came in the first half, with Dries Mertens opening the scoring for hosts PSV after five minutes.
Nick van der Velden restored parity 10 minutes later, but Tim Matavz and Kevin Strootman struck in the space of two minutes to put Fred Rutten’s side in control.
Lasse Schone pegged one back in first-half stoppage time to give NEC the momentum ahead of the second half.
Both sides created plenty of chances after the break, but were unable to score in the remainder of the game.
