Former Dutch international Victor Sikora will make his Australian A-League debut for Perth Glory on Boxing Day following approval of his working visa and international clearance, Glory said Thursday.
Sikora, 30, who arrived last Saturday from Amsterdam, trained with his new teammates for the first time on Christmas Eve and is part of Perth's 15-man squad for the home match with league leaders Adelaide.
With the ability to play in midfield or up front, Sikora is considered a handy inclusion for the Glory, who are just three points off a finals spot with five matches remaining.
“Victor looked great at training today and we had session on Christmas Day which will give him another chance to learn our systems and the way we like to structure the team,” Glory coach Dave Mitchell said in a statement.
Sikora, who recently played with the American Major League club FC Dallas, represented The Netherlands six times and turned out for Ajax Amsterdam, Heerenveen and NAC Breda.
