Robin Dutt has called for Werder Bremen to boost their survival hopes with a “courageous” performance against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Bremen sit only three points above the relegation play-off spot in 12th following a 3-1 loss to Augsburg last weekend.
Dutt’s men have claimed just five victories all season but will be boosted by the return of attacking midfielder Aaron Hunt, who missed the defeat to Augsburg due to a knee injury, and the presence of playmaker Ludovic Obraniak.
Obraniak could make his debut at the Weserstadion after joining from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux late last month, and Dutt is hopeful that both he and Hunt will have an impact as Bremen seek their first win six matches against Dortmund.
“Things are looking good with Aaron (Hunt),” Dutt said. “I expect him to be available for Saturday and the same goes for Ludovic, who has settled into the team really well and has made a good impression during an intensive week of training.
“They could give more value to our side.
“We’re going to be courageous and uncomfortable. We will run a lot and build up our self-confidence bit by bit.
“When you win tackles against top European players like Robert Lewandowski or Marco Reus, then that helps.
“I’m sure my team is going to play differently. I’ve got great faith in them.”
