Former Aston Villa forward Dwight Yorke is believed to have applied for the vacant managerial position at Villa Park. Yorke spent almost a decade with the Midlands club, and while he hasn’t had massive amounts of experience when it comes to management, he was a fan favourite during his time there. It seems like a fairly outlandish move that probably won’t happen, but in the wake of Steve Bruce’s departure, anything is possible.
Villa are attempting to rebuild their promotion push following a poor start to the season under Bruce, despite having one of the best squads in the league. The fanbase has made their feelings known regarding what kind of manager they want to walk through the door of Villa Park in the next few days or weeks, with this next appointment being viewed as one of the most important in the recent history of the club as they try and get back into the Premier League.
