Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has confirmed that he is in talks over a new deal with the Premier League champions, according to the Mail Online.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the forthcoming campaign, hit twenty-six goals in all competitions last season despite starting the campaign behind both Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo in the City pecking order.
He then went on to appear in all three of his country’s matches at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, scoring in the 3-1 win over Iran in Salvador.
He has started just forty-six league games since signing from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2010, though he featured more last season under Manuel Pellegrini than in the previous three under Roberto Mancini.
City begin the new campaign at Newcastle United on August 17th, where they can be backed at 4/7 for the victory.
