Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko is close to a move to Manchester City, according to reports in the British media.
The clubs have reportedly agreed to a 27-million-pound deal for the 24-year-old Bosnia striker, although Dzeko is still to come to personal terms with City.
This could be a sticking point to any potential deal, with Dzeko said to be holding out for a contract worth 175,000 pounds a week – a figure significantly higher than what is being offered by the English Premier League club.
If a deal is done, City defender Jerome Boateng believes the Sky Blues will get their money’s worth from Dzeko.
“Dzeko is a very good striker. Of course, we would love to see him at City because he is a quality player,” Boateng said.
“I have marked him a few times and it is always a good, physical challenge. He holds the ball up well and knows how to use his body. He is not so quick but is very good in front of goal and would work well with our other strikers.”
