Dzeko closing in on Roma switch

Edin Dzeko is close to completing a move from Manchester City to Serie A side Roma, according to Sky Sports.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has agreed terms with Rudi Garcia’s side, with a transfer fee for the striker all that is left to be settled on between them and the Premier League outfit.

Dzeko moved to the Etihad Stadium four years ago, and has since racked up one hundred and eighty-five appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring seventy-one goals.

He was part of the squads that won both the 2011 FA Cup and 2014 League Cup, as well as the Premier League title in both 2012 and 2014.

However, he started just eleven league games last season and is behind Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony in the pecking order, while new signing Raheem Sterling has also been deployed as a centre-forward by manager Manuel Pellegrini in preseason.
