Dzeko urged to quit Manchester City

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has been advised by his international manager Safet Susic to leave the club.

Dzeko has not started a game for City since their 3-3 draw with Sunderland at the end of March and he has not found the back of the net since February.

And Bosnia national team coach Susic believes it is in the 26-year-old’s best interests that he departs the Etihad Stadium this summer in search of more regular first-team football.

“Dzeko’s situation at Manchester City cannot last forever,” Susic told the Daily Mirror. “He knows what is best for him.

“It seems that Manchester City will win the title, which means Roberto Mancini and his staff will remain, and I saw that City are planning to bring in even more attacking players.”

The Bosnian striker, who joined the club from Wolfsburg in January 2011, has not been short of potential suitors in the wake of him slipping down the pecking order at City.

Newly-crowned Italian champions Juventus are said to be interested in securing his signature this summer, though the striker’s agent, Silvano Martina, does not believe the Old Lady can afford him.

“Dzeko is a champion, although this season he has not done so well,” Martina told reporters.

“The City striker costs too much, so no Italian club will deal with the English club to buy him now.”
