AS Roma are keeping close tabs on River Plate centre-back Eder Balanta, Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested.
Even if Mehdi Benatia eventually remains at Stadio Olimpico, the Giallorossi will be in need of defensive reinforcements considering they are unlikely to exercise the option to turn Rafael Toloi’s loan deal into permanent move.
According to the latest reports, Roma could make a move on River Plate starlet Eder Balanta, who has been attracting a lot of attention of late.
The 21-year-old has largely impressed last season, making 29 league starts for the Argentine giants and he is widely tipped to leave for greener pastures this summer.
And with everything suggesting he will be given a starting role for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup, interested sides will have to act quickly before his price increases.
Los Cafeteros arrive at the tournament finals in confident mood and they are priced at 11/8 to reach the quarter-finals.
