AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko has been linked with a switch to the Liga MX giants Monterrey, Mexican media outlet Elmercurio has reported.
Leading side of the Mexican top flight is determined to build a competitive squad and raise the profile of the Mexican football overall by bringing in high-profile footballers, with Bosnian forward highlighted as one of the top transfer targets for 2018.
Former Manchester City frontman has established himself as a constant performer for Europe’s top clubs and is seen as a player that could bring much desired continuity in Monterrey’s attacking department.
Dzeko has thus far scored the total of 246 goals in Bosnia, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and England and Monterrey are hopeful they could persuade the experienced forward to test his skills on an entirely different stage.
The 31-year-old striker featured in 18 Serie A fixtures this season and currently has 8 goals next to his name.
