European champions Real Madrid are said to be monitoring the AS Roma forward Edin Dzeko ahead of the January transfer window.
Diario AS has learned that Los Blancos have dispatched scouts to keep tabs on the experienced striker and will be on his trail ahead of the two sides’ Champions League encounter later in November.
Real Madrid chiefs have been actively seeking a solution for their attacking woes and seem to have identified Edin Dzeko as a potential solution for the void upfront Cristiano Ronaldo left when he joined Juventus.
Several names have already been thrown in the mix but Real Madrid obviously feel that Edin Dzeko’s experience could provide them with an instant solution to the problem.
Edin Dzeko was already linked with a move away from AS Roma last January when Chelsea wanted to bring him to Stamford Bridge but the Bosnia international refused to move out of Italy where he feels settled.
It remains to be seen, however, whether a potential offer from Madrid would see Edin Dzeko maintain his stance.
