Edin Dzeko on Valencia radar
Spanish daily newspaper Marca has suggested that Valencia plan to recruit Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko from Manchester City.
Los Che have struggled to fill the void left by the departure of Roberto Soldado, with his replacement Helder Postiga utterly disappointing this season.
As a result, Valencia are determined to sign a high-profile striker in the January window and they have made Edin Dzeko their number one target.
Los Che will have between €30m and €40m to spend this winter if Peter Lim completes the club takeover, which would see them make an assault on the Bosnian.
Edin Dzeko has been unable to nail down a regular starting berth at Etihad and his patience appears to be slowly running out.
His suitors Valencia have slipped to 11th following back to back defeats to Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, and are priced at 16/1 to achieve a top 4 finish in La Liga.
Verona admit Iturbe could join Roma
Hellas Verona president Maurizio Setti has added fuel to speculations linking Argentine forward Juan Manuel Iturbe with a summer move to AS Roma.
The talented footballer, who is currently on loan from FC Porto, have been identified by the Giallorossi as one of the primary targets for the 2014/2015 season.
And while the Dragons obviously have a say in the transfer, Hellas Verona chairman has confirmed that Iturbe could be joining Roma at the end of the current campaign.
“Iturbe to Roma? He has all the characteristics to become a champion, he would be a good signing for Giallorossi,” Maurizio Setti confessed to Radio Rai.
“At the end of the season we will see what is the best solution for him and for us.”
Juan Manuel Iturbe has been in fine form since joining Verona from Porto, having managed 4 goals and an assist in 13 Serie A appearances.
Roma boss Rudia Garcia yesterday confirmed an interest in the 20-year-old, and a move to Stadio Olimpico does appear to be on the cards.
Max Gradel linked with England return
BBC is reporting that Saint Etienne winger Max Gradel could be returning to England in the January transfer window.
The Ivorian has lost his starting berth at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard and it appears he will be allowed to leave this winter.
And while several clubs from Germany and England have enquired about the player’s availability, his former club Leeds United look set to make a move.
For the first time after quite a while, the Whites are in a position to be fighting for promotion to the Premier League and they believe Gradel would be able to help them realise their goal.
The only problem at the moment is the winger’s wage as he is reportedly not interested in taking a pay cut.
Max Gradel, 26, has done pretty well since joining les Verts from Leeds United, having scored 11 goals and produced 5 assists in 59 Ligue 1 fixtures.
