Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio could leave Estadio da Luz in the summer transfer window, according to the player’s official representative.
The Argentine has been one of club’s star performers this season and his scintillating displays did not go unnoticed.
O Jogo understands that a host of high-profile clubs have expressed interest in signing the 23-year-old, and the player’s representative has moved to confirm that his client could leave at the end of the current campaign.
Agent Agustin Jimenez confirmed to O Jogo the existence of “contacts of English clubs and also Italian” with Benfica officials.
This is enough to suggest that Salvio is on the verge of joining one of Europe’s top clubs, with his current employers in for a substantial transfer fee.
The Eagles took a real gamble when they decided to shell out €12 million for the midfielder last summer, but the investment more than paid off as the Argentine went on to score 10 goals in 29 Primeira Liga matches.
