(GSM) – Monaco confirmed that they expect striker Eidur Gudjohnsen to return to France when his loan spell with Spurs concludes.

Tottenham Hotspur snapped up the ex-Chelsea and Barcelona hit-man in January for the remainder of the season as Harry Redknapp bolstered his attacking options.

Gudjohnsen, who has two goals in his last three appearances for Spurs, confessed is enjoying his time at White Hart Lane.

The Icelandic striker recently claimed Spurs had an option of extending his stay with the North Londoners through next season.

However, Monaco have denied that such a deal is in place and that they will reject any offers for his services this summer.

“We are pleased Eidur is enjoying his time in England, but we expect him back,” confirmed a club spokesman.

“We will ignore any bids,” he said.
