Eintracht Frankfurt will look to continue their perfect start to the season when they meet Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Tuesday.
Armin Veh’s side were runners-up in the second tier last season, earning promotion to the top flight.
But no one at the club could have dreamed of their beginning to the 2012-13 campaign in which they have notched four wins from as many matches.
A 2-1 home win over Bayer Leverkusen in their season opener set the tone and they followed that up with a 4-0 trouncing of Hoffenheim in their next fixture.
And further successes over Hamburg and Nurenberg have given Veh’s men a big lift, with their initial goal of survival now looking a formality.
Things can change quickly in football though and with the German champions coming to town, it promises to be a difficult match for Eintracht Frankfurt.
They have scored plenty of goals through midfield this season, with German trio Martin Lanig, Stefan Aigner and Alexander Meier and Japan’s Takashi Inui all having scored two goals.
A strict defence has seen them concede just four goals, but the club’s back four will be severely tested by a Dortmund attack containing the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Jakub Blaszczykowski, Mario Goetze and Marco Reus.
Juergen Klopp’s side lost 3-2 at Hamburg on Saturday and will be desperate to bounce back in quick fashion to avoid losing ground on Bayern Munich.
Bayern are the other side who have won all four matches they have played this season, scoring 14 goals in the process.
A 2-0 win at Schalke on Saturday proved Bayern’s championship credentials and with star quality on every line, the Bavarian giants will be hard to beat this season.
They host Wolfsburg on Tuesday while the only other unbeaten side in the Bundesliga – Fortuna Duesseldorf who have won once and drawn three times this season – are on the road to Greuther Furth.
Duesseldorf have kept a clean sheet in all four of their fixtures but have just scored twice this season.
Schalke are also in action on Tuesday as they play host to a Mainz side that notched their first victory of the season on the weekend.
On Wednesday, under-pressure Leverkusen boss Sami Hyypia takes his side to bottom-placed Augsburg while Stuttgart take on Hoffenheim in a battle of the strugglers.
Hannover battle Nurenberg and Borussia Moenchengladbach take on Hamburg in other fixtures.
