El Hamdaoui completes Fiorentina switch

Serie A side Fiorentina have announced on their official website that they have signed forward Mounir El Hamdaoui from Ajax.

The experienced forward, who had two years left on his deal with the Amsterdammers, joins Viola for an undisclosed fee.

The Artemio Franchi outfit attempted to sign the Moroccan in January, but they were unable to complete the deal.

The 27-year-old arrived to Amsterdam Arena in the summer of 2010 from AZ Alkmaar and he enjoyed a good start to the season, scoring 13 goals in 26 Eredivisie appearances.

However, the player clashed with coach Frank de Boer in April 2011 and has failed to make a single appearance for Ajax since.

This will be a great opportunity for the Moroccan to get his career back on track and show everyone why he was considered one of the most prolific strikers in Europe just few years back.

El Hamdaoui is expected to establish a partnership with Stevan Jovetic in Viola attack.
