Greek first division club Xanthi announced Monday they have signed Watford striker Nathan Ellington on loan for the rest of the season.

No financial details were revealed.

“I’m really thrilled to be here and I want to help the team climb higher in the table and even qualify for Europe. This is the first time I’m playing outside of England and it’s a new experience for me,” Ellington said.

Ellington, 28, has played for Walton and Hersham (1997-1999), Bristol Rovers (1999-2002), Wigan Athletic (2002-2005), West Bromwich Albion (2005-2007) and Watford (2007-2009) where he was also loaned to Derby County.
