Dutch midfielder Urby Emanuelson is hoping he can play an important role at AC Milan when his loan stint at Fulham ends.
The 26-year-old joined the Cottagers on a six-month loan in January and he experienced some problems at the start of his career in England.
Emanuelson has since nailed down a regular starting berth, but he admits that he would prefer to return to San Siro when his loan deal finishes.
“I will have a one-year contract with AC Milan after this season,” Emanuelson told Sport 1 following the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
“It is important to show what I’ve got. My heart is in Milan.”
Emanuelson arrived at Milan in a cut-price deal from Ajax in January 2011, and he has since struggled for regular playing time at San Siro.
He was played in a number of position across midfield by Max Allegri, but ultimately decided to join Fulham in search of first team football.
The Netherlands international is, nevertheless, determined to prove his worth at San Siro and it is clear he won’t be staying at Craven Cottage for much longer.
