According to a recent report from Marca, former Arsenal manager Unai Emery decided to reject an approach from Everton that could’ve seen the Spaniard become the Toffees’ new manager. Emery only recently left his post at the Emirates following a poor string of results with the club, and the belief is that he felt as if it was far too soon for him to take on another role – especially in the Premier League.
Everton are still searching for a replacement for Marco Silva who was also given his marching orders after a poor start to the campaign for the blue half of Merseyside. Carlo Ancelotti is now said to be in prime position to take on the role, which will serve as music to the ears of most.
Emery will likely take up another position abroad, but at this moment in time, it doesn’t appear as if there’s any sort of timetable for his return to management.
