Emiliano Insua joins Sporting Lisbon

Argentine defender Emiliano Insua has made a switch to Sporting Lisbon, Liverpool have revealed.

The deal was announced on Liverpool’s official website, and it was revealed that the players would sign a five-year deal with the Portuguese giants.

After losing his starting place at Anfield, the Argentine full-back spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.

The 22-year-old returned to Liverpool after the Turkish side opted against making the transfer permanent and has now agreed to join Sporting Lisbon.

The Lions have been very busy this summer, having already acquired the services of Stijn Schaars, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Diego Capel and Jeffren, among others.
