Argentine left-back Emiliano Insua is not closing doors on potential return to Portugal giants Sporting CP.
Former Boca Juniors and Liverpool defender was tipped to make a great name for himself in Europe, but has never quite lived up to his billing as he changed quite a number of clubs before settling with Stuttgart in 2015.
The 28-year-old did spend two seasons playing for Portugal giants Sporting CP and a return to Estadio Jose Alvelade was mooted last summer, when Stuttgart got relegated from the Bundesliga.
Insua failed to reach an agreement with Sporting CP at the time as he decided to stay with Stuttgart and help the club recover from a disappointing season.
However, the Argentine international still holds Sporting CP in high regard and is not closing doors on a potential return, as he would love to work with manager Jorge Jesus.
“He is a highly-rated manager in Portugal. We have never met, but hopefully we will in the future”, Insua was quoted by Portugal media outlet Abola.
Insua made 23 appearances for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga 2 this season.
