Liverpool’s Emre Can, whose contract expires this summer, has been linked with several clubs as the negotiations about a new deal have reached an impasse. Juventus have been mentioned the most, and both player and club have been forced to rubbish rumours of a deal allegedly being already agreed.
The midfielder recently stated he was ready to play for “a really big club” next season, and a report later claimed that he was demanding a £200,000-per-week salary. Now the player has rather angrily responded to such claims.
He took to Instagram to express his displeasure with such reports, explaining that he had just returned from international duty with Germany to find “interesting stories” had broken out about him in the press. He also stated he wouldn’t be commenting on any more “false stories or rumours” whatsoever and that he’s looking forward to getting back to the pitch as soon as possible.
He had already stated more than once, prior to all these reports, that his reluctance to put pen to paper has nothing to do with money.
