Emre Can could be set for shock Man United move

It seems increasingly likely that Premier League giants Liverpool are going to lose their star German Emre Can, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Where the midfielder will end up has been a topic of intense debate amongst the media of various countries, with Juventus having led the way until now.

This week however sees the shock revelation that Jurgen Klopp may have to begrudgingly sell Can to Liverpool’s eternal rivals Manchester United, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Despite being one of the club’s most important midfielders, and featuring 17 times in the Premier League already this season for the Reds, Can’s contract negotiations have stalled, and the Merseyside club will want to avoid letting him leave for free in the summer.

Manchester United are in the market for a midfielder as they prepare for the likely departure of Marouane Fellaini and the retirement of faithful servant Michael Carrick.

The addition of Can would certainly limit the impact of losing the aforementioned players, and would perhaps allow Jose Mourinho’s side to put up more of a challenge against rivals Manchester City.
