Competition: Euro 2016 qualifier
Market: England to win against Lithuania
Odds: 1/8 @ Betfair

England host Lithuania in their fifth Euro 2016 qualifier tonight, with the Three Lions looking to continue their 100% record in Group E. Roy Hodgson’s side have beaten Switzerland (2-0), San Marino (5-0), Estonia (1-0) and Slovenia (3-1) to go top of their group ahead of this evening‘s game.

Following their World Cup disappointment, England have impressed in non-competitive fixtures, winning against Norway and Scotland. They have a strong squad ahead of their meeting against the minnows, with Wayne Rooney expected to captain the side and spearhead the attack.

Michael Carrick and Jordan Henderson should be named in the heart of the midfield to control possession, as well as providing protection to the defence. England have continue to perform outside of major international tournaments, and Betfair are giving odds of 1/8 for the Three Lions to pick up all three points this evening.

A win for Roy Hodgson’s side as expected would see England with 15 points from five games, and on course to earn automatic progression to next-year’s European Championships. They have been waiting four months for an international game, so they may be somewhat rusty. However, the different in quality should shine through.
