Many would’ve called England being relegated to League B of the UEFA Nations League unthinkable, until it happened on Friday evening. The 1-0 defeat in Italy means Gareth Southgate’s team will finish bottom of League A Group 3, behind Hungary, Germany and the Azzurri. It’s a mathematical certainty, even though they are still to face Germany in the final round on Monday.
