Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola is reporting that a number of English Premier League clubs are showing interest in Sporting CP starlet Gelson Martins.
The 21-year-old has seen his stock rise over the last year or so and he made the headlines with an outstanding performance in the 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.
English Premier League clubs have clearly taken notice of his performances as Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and West Ham all had scouts present in Vila do Conde as Sporting suffered a 3-1 loss to Rio Ave.
The winger set up the only goal for the Lions on the night, and he thus continued the rich vein of form that saw him score two goals in five league games this term.
Gelson Martins has a €60 million release clause in his current deal despite being one of the lowest earners in the squad, but he is almost certain to be rewarded with a new contract in the coming months.
