English Premier League Preview: 29 April 2012

Stamford Bridge, Chelsea

The English Premier League weekend will conclude with two fixtures on Sunday, April 29, Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur v Blackburn Rovers.

Chelsea and Spurs are both at home, and are big favorites to tally three points at their respective home stadiums on Sunday.

However, nothing is guaranteed, especially since Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn Rovers are fighting to avoid relegation.

As always, this segment will include betting odds, match previews and match predictions for Sunday’s fixtures. Now then, let’s kick-off with the betting odds for tomorrow’s matches.

English Premier League Betting Odds: 29 April 2012

Chelsea (4/9) v Queens Park Rangers (15/2); Draw (3/1)

Tottenham Hotspur (4/9) v Blackburn Rovers (15/2); Draw (4/1)

Bet of the Day: 29 April 2012

Sunday’s bet of the day is over 3.5 total goals scored when Chelsea host Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, paying 16/1 odds.

Preview: Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers

Roberto Di Matteo and Chelsea play host to Mark Hughes’ Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge, with both clubs needing three points for entirely different reasons.

At the moment, Queens Park Rangers are level on points with 18th-place Bolton Wanderers. However, QPR have a far superior goal difference at -18, while Wanderers’ goal difference is a dismal -28.

Nonetheless, Mark Hughes’ side are far from safe and could use an improbable point, or three, in this fixture.

On the other side of the touchline, Roberto Di Matteo is fully aware that this fixture is a must-win for the Blues.

Since taking over as Chelsea boss, Di Matteo has led the club to the FA Cup final and the UEFA Champions League final. In addition, the Italian has the club in contention to finish in the top four, which would guarantee Champions League qualification for next season.

To sum up, Di Matteo’s been absolutely brilliant in his role as Chelsea’s interim boss.

Prediction: Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers

Rampant Chelsea rout QPR, 4-1 Blues. Odds: Exactly five total goals pays 8/1 odds.

Preview: Tottenham Hotspur v Blackburn Rovers

Out-of-sorts Tottenham Hotspur are scheduled to take on 19th-place Blackburn Rovers at White Hart Lane on Sunday, April 29.

Spurs must regain their early-season form if they are to qualify for the Champions League next season. What once was a formality is now an uphill climb.

With that said, a win on Sunday would move Harry Redknapp’s side back into the top four.

Can Spurs turn it around?

“We can turn it around. Of course we can,” King told Spurs TV Online.

“We still have four winnable games to play and if we perform to our capabilities then we can win those games.

“Last week’s (1-0) defeat at QPR was disappointing for us.

“I felt we had a lot of the ball and didn’t create too many chances but we just didn’t get the break.

“That game was tough to take, but we want to put a few things right against Blackburn and get the points on Sunday.”

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur v Blackburn Rovers

Tottenham boss the game, 2-0 Spurs. Odds: Tottenham & Under 3.5 pays 6/4 odds.
