Premier League sides Everton, Tottenham and Bolton are all chasing Serbian forward Nikola Zigic. Zigic looked to impress scouts as Serbia took on Ireland last night in Dublin, SkySports reveals.
The Serbian currently plays in Spain with Valencia, however the striker has only scored once since joining Los Che in August 2007. Despite a poor season in Spain, Zigic is seen as an ideal target man for many Premiership clubs, undoubtedly due to his phyiscal prowess and height of 6 foot 7 inches.
SkySports further states that all three clubs (Bolton, Everton and Tottenham) were present as Ireland drew 1-1 with Serbia, and Zigic has once expressed a desire to play in England.
It is unclear what price Valencia would ask for the target man, however Valencia revealed that they paid 20 million euros (around £15.9 million) for the Serbian, and may look to refund most of what they paid for him.
The striker has won the ‘Serbian Player of the Year’ award 3 times, and although the Serbian sees the Premier League as the ultimate challenge, it was revealed in January that Zigic turned down a loan move to FA Cup winners Portsmouth.
