AZ Alkmaar have kept pace with Eredivisie league leaders PSV Eindhoven thanks to a 6-0 demolition of ADO Den Haag.
Charlison Benschop set up the win with a hat-trick, scoring the first three goals of the match.
The 22-year-old knocked in the only goal of the first half at Den Haag’s Kyocera Stadion on 33 minutes, before scoring twice after half-time.
Maarten Martens was the next on the scoresheet, scoring in the 73rd minute, before USA international Jozy Altidore hit the back of the net twice in the last 10 minutes to complete the 6-0 rout.
The win means Alkmaar go above FC Twente into second spot, equal with PSV on 42 points but behind the club from Eindhoven on goal difference.
