ADO Den Haag climbed above Heerenveen in the Eredivisie standings after they beat their mid-table rivals 3-1 on Friday.
Midfielder Danny Buijs opened the scoring for Den Haag in the 12th minute at the Kyocera Stadion, and the hosts maintained their lead at the main break.
Striker Charlton Vicento doubled the advantage for Den Haag with a goal eight minutes after half-time, but goal sneak Bas Dost’s strike for Heerenveen gave the visitors hope of snaring a point from the encounter.
But that hope was quickly snuffed out, when striker Lex Immers netted less than 60 seconds later, reinstating the two-goal buffer and ensuring Den Haag of the victory.
The win takes Den Haag to seventh place in the Dutch top flight on 32 points, two ahead of Heerenveen in eighth.
