Groningen snapped a three-match losing streak with a 1-0 victory over NAC Breda in the Eredivisie on Friday.
Michael De Leeuw’s goal with nine minutes to go proved the difference as Groningen secured their fourth win of the season and second away from home.
Robert Maaskant’s men have climbed to 10th on the table with 14 points, while NAC, 13th on 11 points, could slip as low as 16th depending on other results at the weekend.
Groningen play host to AZ Alkmaar next week, while NAC travel to face lowly PEC Zwolle.
