NEC Nijmegen were held 1-1 by Heracles Almelo in their Eredivisie battle at McDOS Goffertstadion on Friday.
The league’s leading goal-scorer Bjorn Vleminckx scored his 16th goal of the campaign in the 52nd minute to move two ahead in the scoring charts, but it was not enough to see his side to victory after Mark Fledderus netted the equaliser 11 minutes later.
It was NEC’s third consecutive draw in the league, which leaves them in 11th place, five points ahead of Heracles in 13th.
It was Heracles’ fifth unbeaten result in their last six in all competitions – and a handy one too – as they strive to avoid relegation, currently sitting five points above the drop zone.
