Roda JC have come from behind to record a 3-1 victory over 10-man VVV Venlo in the Eredivisie on Friday.
The hosts at Parkstad Limburg Stadion received a massive scare when visitors Venlo took the lead on 39 minutes, when Maya Yoshida followed up a well-saved free-kick to tap home into an empty net.
Despite trailing at the interval, Roda responded well, with striker Sanharib Malki equalising on 51 minutes, before Davy De Beule put his side ahead nine minutes later.
Goalscorer Yoshida was handed a straight red card in the 73rd minute to all but write off any hope of a Venlo comeback, and a late penalty converted by Malki sealed the three points for Roda.
Harm van Veldhoven’s side move into eighth spot with the win, while Venlo remain in the bottom three in the table.
