Ajax wrapped up the Eredivisie title with a 2-0 win over VVV Venlo on Wednesday while Feyenoord and PSV also won.
Frank de Boer’s Ajax side trailed PSV and AZ Alkmaar by eight points in February before embarking on a brilliant run of form that has seen them win their last 11 matches in all competitions.
Over 52,000 fans crammed into the Amsterdam Arena to watch Ajax as they tried to win the Dutch top-flight for the 32nd time.
And those fans headed home happy after Siem de Jong’s double sealed back-to-back titles for the club.
De Jong opened the scoring after eight minutes before sealing the three points with his 58th minute effort.
Feyenoord remain in second after a 4-1 thumping of Heracles.
Otman Bakkal netted after just 11 minutes to give the winners the lead before Jerson Cabral, Sekou Cisse and Ruben Schaken all scored in the space of 12 second-half minutes.
Willy Overtoom bagged a late consolation for the visitors but it mattered little as Feyenoord remained one point above PSV in the race for second, which would give them entry into the playoffs of the UEFA Champions League next season.
PSV cruised to a 5-0 success against ADO Den Haag with Swedish forward Ola Toivonen netting a double.
Moroccan striker Oussama Assaidi also struck twice as Heerenveen came from 2-0 down to defeat Twente 4-3, Utrecht drew 2-2 with Vitesse and RKC Waalwijk defeated Roda JC 5-2.
In other results, AZ drew 1-1 with NEC Nijmegen while the match between Groningen and NAC Breda finished in the same scoreline.
There were also 2-2 draws for De Graafschap against Excelsior and Utrecht against Vitesse.
