Lorenzo Ebecilio scored a second-half hat-trick as Ajax Amsterdam beat Roda JC 4-1 in Sunday’s Eredivisie action.
Mid-table Roda took an unexpected lead on 40 minutes through Syrian forward Sanharib Malki.
Malki’s strike – which was his 11th in his last 12 matches – saw the visitors go into the break clinging onto the lead.
Frank de Boer’s side still trailed midway through the second half before Ebecilio made his impact.
The forward – introduced for Miralem Sulejmani on the half-hour mark – netted the equaliser on 67 minutes before Vurnon Anita put Ajax in front with 12 minutes to play.
Ebecilio bagged his treble with two late strikes as Ajax won their fourth match in a row.
Wilfried Bony and Mike Havenaar scored for Vitesse as they beat strugglers De Graafschap 2-0, Jordy Clasie netted the only goal of the game as Feyenoord beat Groningen 1-0, while Utrecht and NEC had a goalless draw.
